HomeoAmigo is a two-sided healthcare marketplace connecting patients with verified homeopathic practitioners across India. It supports both in-clinic appointment booking and live video consultations, giving practitioners a digital practice management tool and giving patients a trusted, searchable directory of qualified doctors with real reviews. Built as a developer on the project.
The Problem We Solved
Homeopathy has 200,000+ registered practitioners in India but almost no digital presence. Patients, especially in smaller cities, relied entirely on word-of-mouth to find a doctor, had no way to check qualifications or read reviews, and couldn't access care remotely when a trusted practitioner wasn't nearby. On the practitioner side, doctors had no digital tool to manage appointments, maintain patient records, or reach new patients outside their immediate geography. Existing general telemedicine platforms (Practo, mFine) listed allopathic doctors almost exclusively, and homeopathy was treated as an afterthought.
What We Built
We built two React Native apps, one for patients and one for practitioners, on a shared Node.js backend. The patient app lets users search by location, specialty, or symptom, view verified credentials and patient reviews, and book either an in-clinic slot or a live video consultation. Video calls run on Agora SDK with a fallback to audio-only when bandwidth is low. The practitioner app manages their schedule, shows upcoming appointments, and maintains a lightweight patient history log, enough to provide continuity of care across sessions. Doctor verification is a manual step handled by our admin dashboard: practitioners upload their registration certificate, which is checked against the Central Council of Homeopathy registry before their profile goes live. Payments via Razorpay support UPI, cards, and net banking with automatic refunds on cancellations.
