RushCar

Professional car wash, booked in 60 seconds.

RushCar is a hyperlocal on-demand car wash marketplace that connects vehicle owners with professional, background-verified washers for doorstep service. Customers book and track their washer in real time; washers manage their schedule, service radius, and earnings — all from a single app. Built as a developer on the project.

The Problem We Solved

The car wash industry runs almost entirely on walk-ins and fixed locations — inconvenient for customers who can't leave their car parked somewhere for 2 hours. Professional mobile car washers existed in most cities but operated through informal WhatsApp groups, had no way to build a reliable customer base, and collected cash with no receipts. Customers had no way to vet quality, track when their washer would arrive, or pay digitally. The market had demand on both sides but no infrastructure connecting them reliably.

What We Built

We built two React Native apps — one for customers, one for washers — connected by a Node.js backend and Socket.io for real-time location sharing. Customers enter their location, choose a service tier (exterior, full detail, etc.), and see available washers within their radius with live ETAs. Once booked, a Google Maps-style live tracking screen shows the washer's position updating every 15 seconds. Washers set their active service radius and availability from the app; the backend queues and assigns jobs based on proximity and rating. Payment runs through Stripe with support for saved cards and wallet balance. Washer earnings are tracked in-app with weekly automatic payouts. Background verification for washers is handled at onboarding — identity documents are uploaded to AWS S3 and reviewed before activation.

Live washer location tracking updating every 15 seconds via Socket.io

Two-sided marketplace with automated weekly payouts to washers via Stripe

Background verification pipeline ensuring only vetted washers are activated

Service radius and availability management giving washers full schedule control
